Geography： Cangzhou is situated in the southeast of Hebei Province, bordering Beijing and Tianjin to the north and facing Shangdong peninsula and Liaoning peninsula across the Bohai Sea. Cangzhou’s urban district is 240 km far from Beijing, the capital of China, and 120 km from Tianjin, the major port city of North China.
Cangzhou covers an area of 13.5 thousand square kilometers. It locates in the drainage area of the Heilonggang river, namely in the Coastal Plain, which is in the east of North China Plain. The highest point of the West is 15.7 meter above the sea, while the altitude of the East is 3 meters on average.
Demographics： The population of Cangzhou is approximate 7 million, 96.5% of which are Han Chinese. The Hui nationality (Muslim) is the largest minority in Cangzhou, with a population of 230 thousand.
Climate：The climate of this region is a warm temperate continental monsoon-influenced climate, characterized by hot, humid summers due to the East Asian monsoon, and generally cold, windy, dry winters that reflect the influence of the vast Siberian anticyclone.
Average daytime temperature of the whole year is around 12 °C (53.6°F). The highest temperature ever recorded was 40 °C (104°F) and the lowest recorded was -21 °C (-5.9°F). The average frost-free period is 190 days, while the total precipitation is about 600 mm, the majority of which occurs in July and August. There are about 2400 hours of sunshine every year. The climate is similar to that of Beijing.
